Dhaka: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained seven members of an organised kidnapping gang from Shahjalal International Airport area in the Dhaka city on Friday night.  

RAB media wing director Commander Mufti Mahmud Khan said six of the detainees were Jashim, Shahidul, Sohrab Hawladar, Manir Matabbar, Sanaul Bepari and Nipa Begum while the identity of another could not be known immediately.

A team of RAB-1 conducted a drive on Friday night and detained them, added the RAB media wing.  

The elite force also recovered a microbus, Tk50,000, one gun, six mobile phone sets, a doping balm and a handcuff from their possession.
