2 Myanmar nationals held with 10,000 Yaba tablets
Teknaf: Police arrested two Myanmar nationals along with 10,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Mochoni Rohingya camp in Hinla Union of the upazila on Saturday noon.
The arrestees are Abdur Rahman, 37, and Abu Siddique, 28, both residents of Mongdu Raimyabeel area of Myanmar.
Police and camp sources said police conducted a drive, led by camp in-charge and Magistrate Jalal Uddin, at block D, Roon No. 4 Shed No. 732 at about 2:30pm and arrested them along with 10,000 pieces of Yaba tablets worth Tk 30 lakh.
However, the owner of this house managed to flee from the scene sensing the presence of law enforcers.
Camp in-charge Jalal Uddin confirmed the incident.
The arrestees were handed over to the concerned police station and a case was filed in this connection, he added.
