Cops injured in clash with Shibir men
Sylhet: Two policemen were injured in a clash with the activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir at Dorgah Gate in the city on Tuesday afternoon. Police arrested two Shibir activists during the clash.
Witnesses said some Shibir activists brought out a rally in front of Life Care Clinic at Dorgah Gate in the afternoon.
Following this, police chased them and fired a round of bullets at the Shibir activists who in started pelting law enforcers with brick chips, leaving two of them injured. The injured policemen were taken to hospital.
An additional platoon of police rushed to the spot and detained two youths suspected of being Shibir men.
Kotoali Model Police Assistant Commissioner (AC) Station Sazzad Hossain confirmed the incident.
