Dhaka: The International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Thursday served a show-cause notice on the prosecution for their absence in the tribunal during hearing in a contempt case filed against Fakhrul Islam, a counsel for condemned war criminal SalauddinQuder Chowdhury.

The ICT-1, led by Justice Enayetur Rahim, passed the order as no lawyer from the prosecution was present in the tribunal during the hearing.

Acting chief prosecutor Syed Haider Ali has been asked to reply to the show-cause notice within 15 days.

The tribunal also fixed November 2 for next hearing in the case.
