Magura: Two sisters allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves from a single rope at Durgapur village in Sadar upazila of Magura on Friday night.

The deceased are Antara Begum, a Class-XI student of Magura Govt Female College, and her sister Chaity Begum, a Class-X student of Ramnagar High School.

They were daughters of Farhad Hossain of the village.

Sadar police officer-in-charge Munshi Asaduzzaman said the two sisters hanged themselves from the ceiling of the room at about 8:00pm after their parents rebuked them over their love affairs.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Victims’ father said they committed suicide following a family feud.
