Kidnapped college boy’s body found in Bangshi River
Savar: Three days into the killing after his abduction, the body of a college student was recovered from the Bangshi River at Hemayatpur in Savar on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased is Monir Hossain, 20, son of Porash Ali of Manikganj. He was a student of Khan Bahadur College.
On 10 September, some miscreants kidnapped Monir from Sadar area in Manikganj.
The kidnappers demanded Tk 30 lakh from the family members of Monir as ransom.
Later, they threw Monir into the Bangshi River after tying a concrete chunk to his body with his hands and legs tied.
Monir’s parents filed a case with Manikganj Police Station in this regard.
Following the filing of the case, police conducted a drive at Arapara in Savar and arrested six people early Saturday in connection with the incident.
Later, based on their information, a team of divers of Savar Fire Service conducted an operation in the Bangshi River and recovered the body of Monir on Sunday afternoon.
The kidnappers also confessed to picking up another college student, Munna, from Arapara in Savar 19 days back and killing him in the similar fashion.
However, divers are yet to recover the body of Munna.
