6 suspected ticket scalpers held
Dhaka: Dhaka railway police at Kamalapur Railway Station held six suspected ticket scalpers on Wednesday morning.
Police said the passengers, came to buy tickets at about 9:00am, brought allegation against 6 people for their involvement in selling tickets on the black market.
The railway authorities said the people were seen waiting in queues from Tuesday night.
The ticket-buyers claimed the detainees were not in the queues before. They entered into the queue on Wednesday morning.
Railway police has taken the detainees to the police post for interrogation.
Bangladesh Railway and Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) continued selling advance tickets for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. The passengers can collect advance train tickets three more days.
Train tickets for 21 September are being sold on Wednesday.
