HC postpones VAT on English medium schools
Dhaka: High Court postponed 7.5 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) imposed on the tuition fees at English medium schools for six months.
The court on Thursday also issued a rule on government asking as to why 7.5 per cent VAT imposition on English medium school fees would not be illegal.
A HC bench comprising Justice Shamim Hasnine and Justice Mohammad Ullah issued the order after concluding a primary hearing on a writ filed by two guardians of English medium students.
