Dhaka: At least eight students, allegedly activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League, were injured in a rival attack at Allama Kashgori Hall of Government Alia Madrasa in Dhaka on Thursday evening.

The injured were named as Ferdous, Rakib, Aminul, Limon, Nurul Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Ahmed Bulbul and Babu. All of them are reportedly supporters of a BCL fraction led by one Shahadat.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) officials said supporters of BCL leader Solaiman stormed into the dormitory at about 7:00pm in a bid to capture the hall.

They beat the supports of Shahadat group as they tried to resist them, the sources said.

Contacted, Inspector Mozammel, in-charge of DMCH police camp, said several BCL activist of Allama Kashgori Hall were given first aid at the hospital.
