Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday urged the government officials to work in a coordinated way as the ministries and the divisions are interdependent for implementing development works.

The Prime Minister was speaking at the signing ceremony of Annual Performance Agreement at her office. The Annual Performance Agreement for the 2015-2016 fiscal was signed between the Cabinet Division and other Ministries or Divisions on Sunday.

‘We believe in equal and balanced development, we want to build the country as poverty-free one in line with the spirit of the Liberation War which was dreamt by the father of the nation,’ she said.

She mentioned that the aim of the present government is to implement the development projects for the rural people of the country.

‘If we cannot strengthen the rural economy, increase their purchasing capacity, make them free from poverty, fulfill their basic needs, then there is no meaning of doing politics,’ Sheikh Hasina said.

She also mentioned the aim of her politics is to improve the socio-economic condition of the lowest level people of the society.

‘We want to provide them better life in terms of education and knowledge, minimizs the gap between the poor and the rich, reduce the income disparity, So all our development programmes are centering the people of the country, we want to ensure that the results of these development programmes will be reached to these people,’ she said.
