Natore: A Natore municipality councilor was arrested on Sunday morning for possessing illegal arms.

Police said they recovered two arms and ammunitions from the possession of Sajjad Hossain Sohag, councilor of Ward No.1.

Natore circle assistant superintendent of police M Rafiqul Islam said Detective Branch conducted a raid in Uttar Choukir Par area of the municipality at about 4:00am and arrested Sohag.

During the raid police recovered a pistol, a magazine and a pipe gun with 21 bullets from his possession.

A case was filed with Natore Police Station in this occasion.
