Dhaka: The newly appointed Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Yasoja Gunasekera on Monday paid a courtesy call on the Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali at the Latter’s office, says a PID handout.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister and the Sri Lankan High Commissioner discussed issues of mutual interest. Referring to the remarkable progress by Bangladesh in ship-building and pharmaceutical industries, Foreign Minister put forth the prospects of export of phermaceuticals from Banglasdesh to Sri Lanka as well as cooperation in the ship building industry.

The High Commissioner thanked the Foreign Minister for receiving her and stated that Sri Lanka attaches high importance to her relationship with Bangladesh. She expressed her resolve to work for further strengthening it during her tenure.
