ILO, Germany, BD sign deal to develop injury insurance scheme

Dhaka: The International Labour Organization (ILO), Germany and the government of Bangladesh will collaborate in the development of an Employment Injury Insurance (EII) Scheme for Bangladesh and a deal was signed in this regard.
The Letter of Intent was signed at a ceremony held at the Westin Hotel in Dhaka on Tuesday by Dr Gerd Müller, Minister, Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Federal Republic of Germany; Mikail Shipar, Secretary, the Ministry of Labour and Employment of Bangladesh; and Srinivas Reddy, ILO Country Director for Bangladesh.
In the initial stages, the three signatories will work together on the design of a suitable EII scheme for the Ready Made Garment Sector, according to a media release.
