Jeff Nankivell for continuing reform in RMG sector

Dhaka: Director General Programming (Asia-Pacific) of Global Affairs Canada Jeff Nankivell, now in Bangladesh, has stressed continuing the reform process in the ready-made garment sector.
Nankivell, attending the Bangladesh Development Forum, laid emphasis on ensuring gender equality throughout society, and ending child, early and forced marriages.
During his visit, he met Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim, and participated in a panel on ‘Health and Quality Education:
Offering a Secure Future for All’ along with Finance Minister AMA Muhith, founder and Chairperson of BRAC Sir Fazle Abed, and Primary and Mass Education Secretary Mesbah ul Alam.
In his discussions, Nankivell commented on the over 40-year development partnership between Canada and Bangladesh, and the impressive development gains made by Bangladesh during the period.
He also had discussions with the Finance Minister and the Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque.
