Bangladesh, Singapore sign 3 MoUs to boost trade

Dhaka: Bangladesh and Singapore on Monday signed three memoranda of understanding (MoU) to facilitate information exchange, trade and investment opportunities and promote Singapore's business interests here.

The MoUs were inked during the Bangladesh-Singapore Business Forum jointly organised by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Singapore Business Federation (SBF) at a city hotel.

Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and SBF signed of the MoUs while FBCCI and SBF another one, and Bangladesh Business Chamber of Singapore (BDCham) and FBCCI the 3rd one.

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu was the chief guest at the Forum which was also addressed by SBF Chairman SS Teo, its Vice-chairman Dr R Theyvendran, FBCCI Vice-president Md Muntakim Ashraf, BIDA Executive Chairman Kazi M Aminul Islam and BDCham President Mirza Golam Sabur.
 Bangladeshi business leaders, members of the visiting Singaporean delegation and BIDA officials participated in the Forum.

Describing Singapore as a trusted friend of Bangladesh and global investment leader, Amu said, "We want to expand bilateral trade and business relationship with Singapore under the dynamic and visionary leadership of our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a mode of win-win situation."

The high-level Singaporean business delegation arrived here on Saturday on a seven-day tour to Bangladesh.
