Bangladesh likely to get duty-free market access to Ukraine

Dhaka: Bangladesh exporters can avail the opportunities of duty-free access of Bangladeshi exports items to Ukrainian market as Ukraine will be concluding free trade agreement with the European Union (EU) soon.
Outgoing Ukrainian Ambassador to Bangladesh (non-resident, based in New Delhi) Oleksandr Shevchenko said this when he met State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam at the latter’s office on Tuesday.
While talking to the State Minister, the Ukrainian envoy put emphasis on strengthening the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Ukraine, as well as the expansion of economic cooperation for the betterment of the people of the two countries.
Ambassador Oleksandr Shevchenko expressed his gratitude for all kind of support extended to him from the government of Bangladesh during his tenure here.
During the meeting, Shahriar Alam said both Bangladesh and Ukraine can be benefitted by increasing bilateral trade between these two countries.
He welcomed the Ukrainian investors to take advantage of the investment-friendly climate for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and abundant trainable and competitive young work force available in Bangladesh.
For opening new areas of cooperation in the field of trade, commerce and investment, Shahriar Alam proposed for regular exchange of trade delegations between the two countries.
