Dhaka: bKash Limited, the largest mobile financial service provider in the country offers 10 percent cash back to its customer if they purchase books from the month long ‘Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2018’  through bKash payment.

Around 350 leading publishers will accept bKash payment at the book fair which began on February 1, 2017 at the Bangla Academy premises. The customers can avail the cash back offer till February 28, the last day of the fair. bKash has been extended the same offer to its customers since 2014. 

To make the purchase, bKash customers  have to dial *247# to access the bKash menu, then select ‘3’ for the ‘Payment ’ option and then follow some simple interactive steps to complete the transaction. 

The customers do not need to pay any charge while making payment through bKash. They will also receive the cash back amount in his or her bKash account instantly.

Moreover, bKash customers effectively have to pay 32.5 per cent less than the cover prices of the books as the cash back is applicable on top of the publishers’ 25 percent discount on cover prices at the fair.  bKash will reimburse 10 percent of the book price after publisher’s discount in customers’ wallets in the form of cash back.

Opening a bKash account is free of cost. Any adult individual having a valid national ID card/passport or driving licence along with two copies of passport size photographs can open a bKash account from any bKash agent point. bKash has more than 180,000 lakh agent points across the country.

Launched in 2011, bKash, a joint venture of BRAC Bank, US based Money in Motion, World Bank’s private sector investment arm IFC and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation offers mobile financial services for the common people of Bangladesh.
