Dhaka: From now on, no more than one pin will be allowed to be stapled on the bundle of Tk 500 and Tk 1000 note, said a Bangladesh Bank circular on Sunday.

The circular, issued by Department of Currency Management of the central bank, said the stapling pin has to be put within 1-1.5 cm from the middle of the left side of the notes for the sake of their longevity and exclusiveness.

It also said that it is being observed that the scheduled banks are putting stapling pins on several points on the notes of Tk 500 and Tk 1000 and also putting pins indiscriminately on their packets. As a result, customers are not being able to receive the notes by checking while the longevity of the notes is declining fast.
