Dhaka: A delegation of the European Parliament (EP) on Friday held a meeting with the leaders of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and discussed various issues related to the country’s readymade garment sector.

Jean Lambert led the delegation at the meeting held at BGMEA Bhaban in the city.

The BGMEA leaders, led by its president Siddiqur Rahman, welcomed the visiting team with a bouquet.

Former BGMEA president Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, BGMEA senior vice president Faruque Hasan, its vice presidents SM Mannan (Kochi), Mohammed Nasir and Mahmud Hasan Khan (Babu) attended the meeting.  

EU Ambassador in Dhaka Pierre Mayaudon and other officials from the mission were present, said a press release.
