REHAB demands cut in VAT, tax, registration cost

Dhaka: The Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) today demanded of the government to reduce VAT (value added tax), tax and registration cost and fix the rates at 7 per cent to accelerate the business as well as growth in the economy.
REHAB leaders ventilated their demands at a meeting with the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman M Nojibur Rahman at its office, says a press release.
They also demanded opportunity for investing the undisclosed money in the housing sector without raising any question to prevent money laundering.
NBR Chairman assured REHAB leaders that necessary measures in this regard would be taken.
Among others, NBR member (Customs policy) M Farid Uddin, Member (VAT policy) Barrister Jahangir Hossain and REHAB President Alamgir Shamsul Alamin were present in the meeting.
