Dhaka: Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has suspended its auction for Mobile Number Portability (MNP) licence scheduled for September 28, reports UNB.

In a notice published on its website on Tuesday, the telecom regulatory body said it has decided to suspend the overall proceedings of MNP service licence auction due to unavoidable circumstances.

It also said new date for the auction will be published later.

Earlier on September 5, BTRC rescheduled the auction for September 28 instead of original date of September 21.

MNP allows mobile phone users to change operators without changing their phone numbers.
