Best Brand Award: Leading brands honoured
The leading brands in Bangladesh were honoured at the 8th edition of Best Brand Award held on 19 November at a city hotel in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) in partnership with world’s leading brand research company Kantar Millward Brown Bangladesh organised the award ceremony.
The brands were awarded in 33 categories based on a nationwide survey comprising 4800 respondents, which was carried out by Kantar Millward Brown Bangladesh. The approach of this research was quantitative where face-to-face Pen and Paper Interviews (PAPI) were conducted with a structured questionnaire among randomly selected respondents.
The award giving ceremony started with the welcome speech of BBF Director Nazia Andaleeb Preema. Kantar Milward Brown Bangladesh Country Manager Khandaker Samina Afrin, and The Daily Star marketing chief Tajdin Hassan spoke on behalf of their respective organisation.
Later, BFF Founder and Managing Director Shariful Islam inaugurated Bangladesh Youth Hub — an online platform designed to prepare the youth for the next phase of human development. The beginning of ‘Bangladesh YouthFest 2017’ was also announced.
In this year’s event, the brands were awarded in 22 FMCG categories and 11 Non-FMCG categories. Along with the top brands in each category, a list of overall top ten brands and top ten local brands were ranked in which Grameenphone got the Best Overall Brand award and Radhuni Masala got the Best Local Brand award. Three special awards were also handed over for Best Newcomer Brand to Pran Frooto, Most Improved Brand to Super Fresh Fortified Soyabean Oil and Most Consistent Brand to Horlicks. A special recognition was given to Mustafizur Rahman for his outstanding contribution to uphold Bangladesh in international cricket arena.
