‘Voice mail’ service for mobile phone users soon: BTRC

Dhaka: Country’s mobile phone operators will soon introduce ‘voice mail’ service for their subscribers, said Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmood on Tuesday.
“Like other countries, our mobile phone users will get the voice mail facilities,” he said at a public hearing on the mobile phone operators’ services at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in the capital on Tuesday.
The BTRC chairman said details of an unanswered call will be restored automatically once the voice mail service is introduced. A total of 20 voice messages can be saved at a time if anyone cannot attend calls, he said.
Besides, the government has taken an initiative to launch the fourth generation (4G) mobile phone services soon, he added.
The BTRC arranged the first-ever public hearing of its kind to directly hear from the customers about the services of mobile phone operators, including call drops, voice calls, and various internet bundle packages and their prices.
