United Airways celebrates 8 yrs of operation Friday

Dhaka: United Airways will celebrate eight years of its service on Friday.
On 10 July 2007, the largest private airline in Bangladesh started its operation with its maiden flight from Dhaka to Sylhet, said a press release on Thursday.
United Airways is the first-ever public limited company in aviation sector of Bangladesh stock market.
In last eight years, United Airways operated 55,000 flights and carried 24 lakh passengers and 5500 tonnes cargo to various destinations. It has created over 1000 jobs.
It took to the skies with a slogan ‘Fly Your Own Airline’ and has been providing committed services ever since.
In the international sectors, it operates from Dhaka to Kuala Lumpur, Kolkata, Muscat, Doha, Jeddah, Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok and Kathmandu and also from Chittagong to Kolkata. In the domestic sectors, United Airways is holding major market share.
Presently, it provides connectivity to all the domestic airports with the capital by giving regular flights. United Airways has total 11 aircraft in its inventory; these are two Airbus-310, five MD-83, three ATR-72 and one DASH 8-100 aircraft. The Management of United Airways (BD) Ltd. has decided to procure three DASH 8-Q400 aircraft, aiming to enhance domestic and regional flight network.
