5th Commward honours country’s best ad campaigns
Dhaka: To recognise and celebrate creative communication in marketing and business, 5th Commward, Excellence in Creative Communication, was held on 29 August at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka. At the event, 63 winning advertisement campaigns of the year 2014 were honoured in 20 categories. The winning campaigns were recognised in three ranks: Grand Prix, Gold and Silver.
After a month’s long hunt for the best creative works in Bangladesh and rigorous assessment sessions by market and communication experts of the country, Commward finally unveiled the winners. This year, Commward received total 367 nominations from 36 advertising agencies and creative departments of various organisations — the highest number of nominations ever received in Commward.
While Commward has honoured many small new agencies for their outstanding creative campaigns, the large established agencies overwhelmed the award ceremony with their strong advertising campaigns.
Among the campaigns, the most popular ICC Char Chokka Hoi Hoi campaign won the highest number of Grand Prix awards in jingle, social media and integrated digital media categories. In the debut category, campaigns for Women, Fair & Lovely Foundation, Rise Up for Women, and Merils Splash – Fresh is Beautiful, were the winning campaigns. In the Integrated campaign category, which is regarded as the ultimate comprehensive category, the campaign for ICC World T20 Bangladesh 2014 won the Grand Prix. This integrated campaign was conceived and executed by Grey Advertising Bangladesh Ltd.
Commward is one of the largest initiatives in the country in recognising and inspiring creative advertising in business and marketing, since 2009. Organised in association with Cannes Lions, the day-long festival on creative communication also organised Communication Summit, Cannes Showcasing and an intensive Panel Discussion. The festival was attended by 600 professionals from the business, marketing and creative agencies this year.
Commward is an initiative by Bangladesh Brand Forum.
