Yunus opens new HQ of GB Replication Grameen Koota in Bangalore

Dhaka: Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus has inaugurated the new corporate headquarters of Grameen Koota (GK) in Bangalore, India.
On Sunday, founder Vinatha M Reddy, board director Suresh Krishna, chief executive officer Udaya Kumar and hundreds of Grameen Koota staff greeted Professor Yunus at their headquarters.
Yunus addressed a large group of newly recruited staff to set the motion of expansion in place, said a Yunus Centre press release on Monday.
Grameen Koota is one of the largest microfinance organisations in India reaching over one million women members in five states of the country.
GK began its journey in 1998 with the inspiration of Professor Yunus and initial seed funding and training from Grameen Trust. Grameen Koota is poised for massive expansion in its next phase to scale up to reach multiple of millions of poorest women with microcredit.
The organisation is widely regarded as highest quality MFI which has maintained commitment to Yunus philosophy with its social focus and client centred approach through its 18-year history.
Earlier in the day, Professor Yunus was invited to the state of the art Infosys Global Development Centre in Mysore. Infosys was founded by seven as they were fresh graduates in 1981.
