Unicef willing to work with UGC on higher education

Dhaka: The United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) is willing to work with University Grants Commission (UGC) for developing curriculum on Communication for Development (C4D) at the tertiary level education of Bangladesh.
Neha Kapil, Chief of Communication for Development (C4D) of Unicef Bangladesh, showed the interest at a meeting with UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan at the latter's office in the city on Tuesday, said a press release on Wednesday.
Neha Kapil said Communication for Development is very essential for socio-economic development of Bangladesh.
She said the Unicef wants to develop a curriculum on Communication for Development (C4D) for qualitative development of higher education of Bangladesh. For this, they want to arrange a two- or three -day workshop this year in Bangladesh, she added.
Welcoming the Unicef proposal, Prof Mannan said it will add value to the enhancement of higher education of the country.
He said UGC always welcomes local and international assistance and cooperation for enhancement of the country's higher education.
Neha Kapil was accompanied by Yasmin Khan, Communication for Development Specialist, Unicef Bangladesh, and Dr Masudul Biswas, Assistant Professor, Communication Development, Loyola University Maryland, USA during the meeting.
