Dhaka: Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Wednesday said the upcoming SSC examination will begin in due time despite the non-stop blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party Alliance.

The minister came up with the remarks while talking to journalists after a meeting over holding the upcoming SSC examination on time at the ministry in the morning.

Nahid also urged the leaders of the 20-party alliance to withdraw the blockade considering the expectations of the examinees and their guardians.

“It’s their moral responsibility to call off the non-stop blockade as there’re students in all families.”

He said the law enforcers have been asked to take all kinds of preparation to ensure security of the students, especially both on their way to the examination centres and back home, so that the students can sit for the examination safely.

About checking possible question paper leakage, the minister said, detectives will keep eyes on the Bangladesh Government (BG) Press, coaching centres and social networking site facebook.

Representatives from the Home Ministry, Information Ministry, law enforcement agencies and officials of Education Ministry and Education Board also attended the meeting.

Later, education secretary Nazrul Islam Khan said it was decided at the meeting that police will take legal actions soon if they get any clue to question paper leakage.
