Dhaka: Chittagong University vice-chancellor Professor Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury made a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Sunday.

During the meeting, the President underscored the need for maintaining congenial academic atmosphere in the university, President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.

Abdul Hamid advised the university authorities to take special steps so that session jam could not prolong the academic life of the students.

The VC sought direction from the President, also the chancellor of the university, for discharging his duties with a view to turning the university into an ideal one.
