DMP to ensure voters’ safety: Asaduzzaman Mia
Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia on Tuesday said they will ensure security to the voters in coordination with other law enforcement agencies as they can cast their votes safely in the national election slated for December 30.
‘We will ensure all possible security to the voters as they can cast their votes after going to polling centres safely and without any fear,’ he said after inspecting the overall security arrangement of a Holey Sprit Church at Banani in the capital marking the Christmas Day, reports the BSS.
‘Necessary measures have also been taken as none can hamper security of the people in polling centres and any other place (under the DMP areas),’ he also said.
‘Law enforcement agencies have excellent coordination with those involved in the election related activities particularly with members of the armed forces to help in holding a free, fair and peaceful election as per the directives of the Election Commission (EC),’ Asaduzzaman continued.
He has sounded a note of warning against conducting any sort of propaganda on social networking sites ahead of the 11th parliamentary election and said, ‘Propaganda has already been carried out after opening fake facebook IDs and pages using the name of Bangladesh Army.’
The DMP chief requested all the city dwellers to be alert against any sort of propaganda centering the election.
