Dhaka: The newly appointed envoys of Ireland, Algeria and Kenya to Bangladesh separately presented their credentials to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Wednesday.

The all non-resident envoys are Ambassador Brian McElduff of Ireland, Ambassador Lakhal Benkelai of Algeria and High Commissioner Florence Imisa Weche of Kenya.

Welcoming the envoys, the President assured them of providing all-out cooperation in discharging their duties and hoped that they will play a strong role in strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and their respective countries.

He advised the envoys to frequently visit Bangladesh.

President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.

Stressing the need for exploring the potential areas, including trade and investment, of bilateral interest, President Hamid said Bangladesh produces many international standard products, including jute and jute goods, readymade garments (RMG) and medicine.

He called upon the three countries to import these quality products from Bangladesh.

The President underscored the need for exchanging visits of high level delegations from both public and private sectors to strengthen the bilateral relations.

The envoys sought President's cooperation in discharging their duties and hoped that the existing bilateral relations with Bangladesh will be enhanced further in the future.

Secretaries concerned to the President were present.

Earlier on the arrival of the envoys at Bangabhaban, they were given guards of honour separately by a contingent of the President Guard Regiment.
