Savar: Miscreants attacked the houses of four local Jubo League (JL) and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders and activists, leaving five injured including two women on early Sunday.

Police said a group of armed miscreants stormed into the house of Dhaka district unit Jubo League general secretary Mijanur Rahman at about 3:30am on Sunday. They carried out vandalism in his house. Two women were beaten up and injured by the miscreants.

Police assumed the attack could be the result of an old enmity.

A gang of miscreants also broke into the houses of three BCL activists in Savar’s Kazi Mokmapara, Dakkhinpara, and Bank Colony area. Three people were injured in the attack.

Savar Police officer-in-charge Motaleb Hossain said, a law enforcement team was sent to the spots, but none has been arrested yet.

Police will take action as soon as they receive any complaint, said Motaleb.
