Dhaka: A security guard of Shaheed Sergeant Jahurul Haq Hall of Dhaka University was found dead in a library of the hall Monday morning.

The deceased Shankar Chandra Ray, 30, was a security guard of Shaheed Barkat Memorial library in the hall.

Being informed by the hall authorities, Shahabagh police recovered the hanging body of Shanakar from inside the library in the morning.

Other staff of the hall said Shankar had been suffering from mental illness and he committed suicide after locking the door of the library from inside.

Shahbagh police sub-inspector Sirajul Islam said the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy and a case was filed in this connection.
