JCD to stage demo Sunday

Dhaka: Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, will stage demonstrations across the country on Sunday protesting at the ‘killing and enforced disappearance and mass arrest of its leaders and activists’ by law enforcers.
In a press release, JCD president Rajib Ahsan and general secretary Akramul Hasan announced the programme that is also meant for protesting at the implication of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in ‘false’ cases and the police obstruction of the food supply to her Gulshan office.
The demonstration programme is also aimed at pressing home their demand for ensuring political co-existence in the educational institutions and holding the national election under a non-party administration immediately by dissolving the current ‘illegal’ parliament.
The JCD president and secretary urged their leaders and activists to observe the programme in all cities, district towns, upazila headquarters and universities and colleges.
