1 held over Noakhali fire bomb attack
Noakhali: A suspect was held for hurling petrol bombs at two goods-laden trucks at Datter hat and Sonapur in Noakhali on Tuesday night.
The detainee is Mohammad Hossain, a resident of Sonapur. Police claimed Mohammad Hossain is an activist of Bangaldesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
Police said miscreants hurled petrol bomb at a wheat-laden Sonapur-bound truck from Chaumohani as it neared Datter Hat at about 9:15pm.
The truck driver, Mohammad Ismail, 60, received burn injury during the attack.
Local people took him to Noakhali General Hospital.
Noakhali police superintendent Mohammad Ilias Sharif said Mohammad Hossain received bullet as police opened fire during the arson attack.
