Chapainawabganj: Three people, including a woman and her daughter, were killed in separate incidents of lightning strike in Sadar and Shibganj upazilas in Chapainawabganj on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Fulera Begum, of Sonardichar in Sadar upazila,her daughter Babita , and Saidur Rahman of Radhakanta village in Shibganj upazila.

A thunderbolt struck Fulera and her daughter while working at their courtyard in the afternoon, killing them on the spot, said Narayanpur union parishad chairman Alamgir Kabir.

Saidur was injured as lightning struck him also in the evening. He died on the way to hospital.
