Dhaka: Juba League activists on Monday attacked on the supporters of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral candidate Zonayed Saki, according to a press release issued by Saki’s election conducting committee.

One injured in the attack has been admitted to hospital.

The release reads, the attack was carried out at Uttara in capital on the supporters of Saki and polling agents.

The injured are Jahid Sujan, Mizan, van- driver Mohammad Sohel.

It has also been said that the activists for Telescope symbol are being threatened to keep them away from the elections.

It has been alleged in the release that the Election Commission did not try to create a fearless environment.

Urging people to vote for Telescope symbol, Zonayed Saki said, ‘The authority will fulfil the rights of citizens if he is elected as mayor. Also, the citizens will be inspired to fulfil their responsibilities to the city.’
