Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday cast her vote in favour of Syeed Khokan (Hilsa), a pro-Awami League mayoral candidate of Dhaka South City Corporation election.

A voter of Ward No 15 of the DSCC, the Prime Minister also cast her vote for councillor candidate Zakir Hossain Swapan (Kite).

For the reserved women post, she voted for Shirin Gaffar (Betel Leaf).

‘I've cast my vote for 'Hilsa', 'Ghuri' and 'Pan Pata',’ the Prime Minister told reporters emerging from the polling station of the Dhaka City College centre as reporters asked for which symbols she cast her votes.

In city corporation elections, one can cast three votes -- one for a mayoral candidate, one for councillor candidate and one for another councillor candidate from a seat reserved for women.
