Dhaka: The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved separate charge-sheets in three cases filed against former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan and his wife Hasina Sultana, and Teknaf MP Abdur Rahman Bodi for allegedly acquiring illegal wealth.

The Commission at its regular meeting approved proposals for submitting charge-sheets against them, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said.

On 21 August 2014, the ACC sued Abdul Mannan Khan, Abdur Rahman Bodi and former State Minister for Water Resources Mahbubur Rahman on charge of acquiring wealth illegally.

Besides, ACC deputy director M Nasir Uddin filed a case against Syed Hasina Sultana, wife of Mannan, with Ramna Police Station on 21 October 2014, for allegedly accumulating about Tk 5.5 crore illegally.

According to ACC investigations, Mannan Khan amassed about Tk 2.65 crore illegally while his wife Hasina Sultana accumulated illegal wealth worth Tk3.35 crore.

The ACC probe found that Abdur Rahman Bodi accumulated illegal wealth of about Tk 6.33 crore.

Earlier, in February 2015, the national anti-graft body also approved a charge-sheet against former State Minister Mahbubur Rahman for the alleged accumulation of illegal wealth.
