Tribunal asks govt to monitor arrest

Dhaka: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) 1 in a suo moto order asked the government to form a committee to monitor arrest of the people, convicted or accused in the cases of crimes against humanity, within 15 days.
Justice M Enayetor Rahim, chairman of the three-member panel of the ICT-1, passed the order on Wednesday morning.
The first tribunal issued the order upon home secretary and Inspector General of Police. The order also asked to keep representatives from RAB, DB, SB and investigation agency of the ICT in the committee.
According to the order, an official not bellow the status of deputy inspector general of police, will head the committee and from the day of its formation, the committee will submit a report to the tribunal in every 40 days.
