Hasina expecting visa to go Shillong
Dhaka: Hasina Ahmed, wife of BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed, with her children will go to Shillong, Meghalaya, as early as she gets a travel visa.
The BNP leader’s wife on Wednesday in a press conference at her Gulshan residence in Dhaka said, ‘We are trying our best. Our people are waiting at the embassy. We will set out for Shillong once visas are in our hands. We always expect government’s support. Nothing is possible without government’s cooperation.’
Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, Hasina Ahmed in a press briefing said that her husband was alive and phoned her from a mental hospital in Shillong.
Several newspapers published from Meghalaya reported Meghalaya police held Salahuddin Ahmed as he had been wandering in the road. The police took him to Mimhans hospital and later shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.
Meghalaya police also filed a case against the BNP leader for intrusion India.
Salauddin’s family claimed on 10 March that members of law enforcers picked him up from a house at Uttara, an allegation denied by the law enforcers and the government.
