Gaibandha: A man and a child were killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on Dhaka-Rangpur Highway at Dhaperhat Batrishmail Chandipur in Sadulyapur upazila on Sunday night.

One of the deceased are Ashura, who was 7 years old,  and Abu Taleb, in his fifties, a resident from Kashmari village of Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila. 

The Gobindaganj police said the accident took place in the area when a Dhaka-bound bus from Kurigram collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction, leaving Abu Taleb dead on the spot and 11 others injured at about 11:45pm.

Of the injured, Ashura, was taken to Pirganj Upazila Health Complex in Rangpur district where doctors declared her dead.
