Ministers still occupying flats allocated for MPs

Four ministers are still occupying apartments they were allotted earlier despite receiving new apartments in Dhaka.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister Muhammed Sayedul Hoque, Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif, Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan and Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu as members of Parliament had government apartments in NAM Buildings in Dhaka, but later got Mintoo Road apartments as ministers.
The ministers were given repeated reminders to leave the NAB Building apartments, said the authorities concerned.
The Parliamentary House Committee had issued a letter on 6 May asking the minister to leave the apartments within 15 days, which ends on Thursday. But, none of the ministers evacuated the apartments.
The committee on Thursday discussed the issue and will decide on the action in future.
The Parliamentary House Committee chairman ASM Firoz, also the chief whip, presided over the meeting.
