Dhaka: Three people were killed when two trucks head-on collided at Banani in Dhaka in the early hours of Friday.

The deceased are Arif, Mizanur, and Shamim.

The Banani police said a Shahjalal Airport-bound pickup van collided with a Kakoli-bound truck after hitting the road divider as the driver of the pickup van lost control over its steering near Army stadium on the New Airport Road at about 5:30am.

The collision left six people injured. Police recovered the injured at about 6:30am and took them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
DMCH doctors declared three of the injured dead.

DMCH police post in-charge Mozammel Haque said the injured, Ashik, Selim and Ekdil, are undergoing treatment in the hospital’s Emergency Unit.

Two of the injured are in critical condition.
