Dhaka: A dhaka court on Monday sentenced three people to life imprisonment each for killing schoolboy Salman Fahad Patwary in Savar on the outskirts of the capital in 2013.

Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 judge Syeed Ahmed handed down the verdict after examining the witnesses and evidence.

The lifers are victim’s uncle Abdur Razzak, his aunty Fatema Begum and another relative Jahid Hossain.

According to the prosecution, Salman, a Class-IV student of Saad Memorial Bidyaniketan Kindergarten, was beaten to death by his uncle and aunt over a land dispute on 27 July 2013.

Later, victim’s father Md Kamruzzaman filed a case against three people with Savar Police Station.

On 3 December 2013, sub-inspector Ashraful Alam, also investigation officer of the case, submitted a chargesheet against the accused to Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
