BNP leader died in police custody
Dhaka: Former BNP general secretary of Motijheel Moslem Uddin died in prison on Saturday night.
Moslem Uddin, who was also former commissioner of Dhaka City Corporation ward no 8, was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, after he fell ill in Motijheel police station at about 10:00pm, where doctors declared him dead.
It has been known that Motijheel police arrested Moslem Uddin in political violence cases on 1 July.
Earlier, BNP leader and former lawmaker Nasir Uddin Ahammed Pintu, who was serving life sentence for his involvement in BDR mutiny, died of cardiac arrest in Rajshahi Central jail on 3 May.
