Dhaka: The High Court on Tuesday asked the Unilever Bangladesh authority to stop airing their advertisement for selling Lux soap alluring the customers with the temptation of gold lockets.

An HC division bench comprising Justice Moinul Hossain Chowdhury and Md Ashraful Kamal passed the order following a write filed in public interest.

The HC also issued a rule upon Unilever Bangladesh, secretaries of home and commerce ministries, IGP and DMP commissioner, asking them to reply in four weeks as why actions shall not be taken against the Unilever Bangladesh authority for breaching the relevant law.

Lawyer Abdul Matin filed the writ with the HC on 5 July.
