Dhaka: President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday attended an iftar party hosted by Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, and Opposition Leader Raushan Ershad joined the iftar party held on the Jatiya Sangsad premises.

On their arrival at the venue, the President and Prime Minister were received by Dr Shirin Sharmin.

Later, Abdul Hamid and Sheikh Hasina accompanied by Dr Shirin Sharmin went around the different tables set for the guests and exchanged pleasantries with them.

Before the iftar, a special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation. Deputy speaker Fazley Rabbi Mian conducted the munajat.

PM's daughter Saima Hossain, cabinet members, deputy speaker, Chief Whip, whips of the parliament, MPs, high officials of both the offices of the President and Prime Minister and officials and employees of the parliament secretariat also joined the iftar party.
