Dhaka: Police on Sunday recovered bodies of a newly married couple hanging from the ceiling of their rented house at Mirpur in the Dhaka this noon.

The deceased were Farhad, reportedly 26 years old and his wife Rupali, who was in her early twenties. Farhad owned a saloon at Mirpur

“We recovered the bodies hanging from ceiling fans with scarf from two separate bedrooms of a flat located on the ground floor at house number 1 of Section-10, Block-B, Line-5 at Mirpur at about 12:00pm,” inspector (investigation) Shafiqur Rahman of Mirpur police said.

The police officer said they suspected that the couple, who got married seven months back, committed suicide by hanging over family feuds and added that investigation has already initiated to find the real cause behind the deaths.

Bodies of the victims were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.

A process is underway to lodge a case to this end.
