Mymensingh: Three persons including a father and his daughter were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Bagan area in Trishal upazila of the district this afternoon.

One of the victims is Azizul Islam, in his forties, marketing manager of Eskayef.

Azizul was returning to join his job in Dhaka after Eid vacation, police said.

The accident took place when a Mymensingh bound bus from Dhaka collided head on with the private car in which the victims were, at about 4:00pm.

Azizul died on the spot, said Moniruzzaman, Trishal Police officer-in-charge.

The injured persons including Azizul's daughter, his wife, house maid, and car driver were rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where the daughter and the house maid succumbed to their injuries, said the OC.

Police could not confirm the names of other victims till filing of this report.

Police seized the bus but its driver managed to flee.
